Friendship Bag Completed!

I finished my Friendship Bag the other day. I used a wide variety of prints featuring two Amy Butler prints from the Belle line and used a variegated green thread for the modern random quilting. Instead of a set of two shorter handles, I added one longer handle so the bag could be worn across the body, added a swivel clasp in the bag for keys and put a snap closure at the center of the bag. I really struggled if I should modify the suggested tutorial, but my recipient is a SAHM like myself so I am hoping this will be useful.

For a few Minnesota items, I'm including a GE Designs quilt as you go runner pattern and a stack of colored post it notes (3m is based in MN). I also am included a neat set of 4 different 1/2 yards of a Timeless Treasures Oriental line that I think would look great for the runner pattern or a bag. It was difficult to know exactly what to include as this is my first swap?, but I tried to focus on what I hope my fellow busy mom would like and use. You can check out all the other Friendship Bags in the Flickr pool, there are so many cute ones to see. Thanks to Michelle at Quilting Gallery for organizing this and so many other swaps!

Oh, your bag is so cute! I love your little modifications too, I think it's great to make it a little unique to the quilter and the recipient. I'm sure she'll love it!
