Pillowcase Project

Earlier in the year, Jackie at Canton Village Quilt Works shared a pillowcase project her guild was working on for the Hole in the Wall Gang Camp, a camp for seriously ill children.

I decided to try out Jackie's pattern to make a pillowcase for my 8 year old nephew that is a hockey fanatic. The hockey prints are from the Face Off collection by Clothworks that I found at this LQS. I have to admit, I had to read the pattern a few times through...it is commonly called the tube method. It finally clicked the other day and I was so impressed how neatly the cuff and french seams finished.

Now that I shared this with you, I'm off to get it in the mail... sadly it got left on the ironing board the other day as the postman picked up the last package to go to my husbands' family for Christmas.

For more information on contributing to the pillowcase project, check out Jackie's blog...they are taking donations until April 2010.

Yeah, that pattern was a little tricky for me. It worked away at the back of my mind for a while and then it just hit me. I love using this pattern now. Your pillow case turned out great. Your nephew is just going to love it!

Yes, your pillowcase turned out great. I'm going to be contributing pillowcases in the New Year to this wonderful camp and I hope you folks out there will also take the time to check it out!
They need 2000 cases!!!
