Let It Snow ... (Batiks, that is) !

Here is my completed Let It Snow Batik Runner... it was made with the Let It Snow Batiks designed by Edyta of Laundry Basket Quilts for Moda. The runner pattern was included with the signature quilt pattern for this line, I just shortened it up as the original was too large for my table.

It was rather simple and quick to piece. I decided to try stippling a bit tighter than I have in the past so that doubled the quilting time and thread of course. I'm pleased with the outcome in general but of course there is much room for improvement! The only challenge or frustration of the project was that it seemed difficult to load the needle when I was sewing the binding to the back by hand, so the stitches were short and many.

And the other thing I learned is that if you are going on a sub-zero photo shoot...lithium batteries are a must for your camera. I could take a few photos, then had to put the camera back in my coat to warm it up again...this is not something I want to be a frequent issue!

Hope you all have a warm weekend!

Very pretty. Love how the blue stands out against the white snow.

That will look lovely on any table. You did a great job on it - I love the quilting. You're a brave woman to go out in those temps - only a true-blue quilter would go that far for her craft!

Adorable Karen and Wow for the photo shoot! You are a very determined photographer to get all of those great shots in this MN weather!!! The blue looks so awesome with the boulder and the snow. And yes, hand stitching on batik is very time consumer and hard on the fingers. One last thing, your quilting turned out beautiful!

How pretty! I love snowflakes and that it is winter-y without being Christmas (since winter has a few months to go for some of us!). Beautifully done. I hope you're staying warm with all that snow too!
