Relative to goals for the year, here is a rather unscientific summation of your goals for the year...
5 people: Learn to Quilt 30 people: To finish existing projects & use stash 26 people: Complete a specific project whether it was for themself or a gift/occasion 13 people: Learn to or improve their free motion quilting 12 people: Learn a specific technique
There were several comments that this was the year many were finally making something for themselves rather than always giving away quilts. Good for you, I say!
So here are a few of my goals, funny they are similiar, guess we quilters are a like minded bunch:
1. To use stash & finish existing projects...I accumulated kits & fabric for 7 years (started when oldest was a baby & my mom made him a quilt) before finally really getting started last year so I must have the largest stash for a beginning quilter! Actually, now I am more drawn to purchase a random 1/2 yard of a fabric I really like than a precut or fat quarter set which is what I usually used to buy.
2. Improve my free motion quilting and quilt at least a throw size quilt. (so far I've only FM runners)
3. Learn & try applique. Somehow, somewhere I picked up a phobia about applique so I'd like to try it. I still don't think it'll be my thing, it seems to time consuming at this stage of my life but nonetheless, I'd like to know how.
So here's to a productive year all around and sharing in the joys of each others finishes!
