Fabric Fieldtrip: The Sampler, Chanhassen, Minnesota

Last week I decided to check out The Sampler, which is a local quilt shop in Chanhassen (SW Minneapolis burb) about 20 minutes from where I live as I hadn't been there for a few months. The Sampler is a shop in the twin cities known for a modern and colorful selection of fabrics in addition to batiks and traditional lines...they have been in business for over 25 years. They have large variety of classes and have hosted Kaffe Fassett and more recently Christopher Straub of Project Runway. This May, Valori Wells will be speaking.

This is an area near the front door...you can see some silks on the ladder and a large selection of precut fat quarters to the right.

Here is a large group of Amy Butler fabrics... most of my DQS8 fabrics came from here!

And here is a portion of their large selection of Kaffe Fassett fabrics... this is where I first discovered these fabulous fabrics. They also have several Martha Negley & Brandon Malby designs also.

This Kaffe quilt is hanging in their classroom... I believe this design was just on the front of Quiltmania magazine? The photo just doesn't do it justice, it is so wonderful.
They have a large selection of patterns & notions...including Kaffe's new book!

And all I left with was a little "Love!"
I'm very glad I went to check this store out... especially since this week the two different roads I could take are flooded! (So call ahead if you are local and coming from the south!)
