A Peek of Pink

Usually life's unplanned events inhibit my productivity in the sewing world...this week, the situation was the opposite. I found out earlier this week that a friend from my hometown was at the Children's Hospital here in Minneapolis with her 1 month old daughter to monitor her (the baby's) heart condition. At first I was planning on taking the mom a care package of snacks & magazines but then decided I wanted to make something warm and permanent for this little girl that hardly has had a chance to be home yet.

I was inspired by this DQS8 by Quilting Barbie and in two short afternoons now have a completed quilt top that measures 36x43. The print fabrics are from the Oh Cherry oh line of fabric by Moda and the solids are Kaufman Kona Cottons. So tomorrow's mission is to quilt and bind this so it is ready for delivery on Friday and then it will be back at the final stretch for my DQS!
