Sunday Stash: Baskets of Flowers

Baskets of Flowers is a collection by Mary Engelbreit for Moda. Last summer when Hancock's of Paducah was gaving a big sale, I split a fat quarter collection of the whole set with my MIL, so we each ended up with a set of fat eights.

Above are all the prints in the red and blue colorways and below are pink, yellow and greens prints that go together so well.

While they probably aren't "me" enough to make a whole quilt out of, I thought they would be great for a springy runner or for baby quilts. The one word I would use to describe these fabrics is just, sweet. And I love to use more traditional fabrics like this, in a contrasting modern style...like the Modern Pink Squares baby quilt I made a few weeks ago.

Those fabrics are a wonderful part of your stash Karen! I have a few of them I haven't used yet either.

I just used one of the greens from this collection to make a sweet little basket for my daughter. I love the way the reds and blues look together.

Those are definitely "sweet" fabrics. Very soft and pretty.

The RWB are great too.
