Sunday Stash: Judie Rothermel for Marcus Bros

These are some of the first fabrics I ever bought in a quilt store (Plain & Fancy in The Woodlands, TX where we used to live)... I had never seen 30's reproduction fabrics before and they reminded me of my grandmothers things. They were all designed by Judie Rothermel for Marcus Bros. I used the hexagon fabric to make a valance for my sewing room in our first house and the others, I just stacked on a shelf - just to look at.

They are beautiful fabrics. I am currently making hexagons out of some Judy Rothermel civil war repro fabric I bought last year at the Sydney quilt show. She is a great designer. I really feel her designs stand out from the others who also do civil war repro fabrics.

I really love Judie Rothermel's collections for Marcus, especially "Aunt Grace Classics". The vintage style just really works.
