Modern Table Runner: A Finish!

Here is my modern (cough-cough, ahem Valentine's Day) table runner that I started earlier this year. As you may recall I had a bit of mid-winter excitement so I am just finishing it. As I explained in my original post, it was inspired by Malka Dubrawsky's Strips and Bricks quilt from an out of print Sew Hip magazine.

The fabrics are a scrappy mixture of Lizzy House, Sandi Henderson, Tula Pink, Anna Marie Horner and Anna Griffin.

I used a YLI heavier weight variegated thread to quilt the random grid pattern...some of the piecing/quilting lines didn't seem too straight to the world (should have used my Best Press!) so hopefully the fresh from the dryer crinkliness hides the imperfections. I marked this as my first finish for Jacquie's challenge...so on to the next project!

I always find we are our own harshest critics, I bet ONLY you notice those (where!?!?)not-so-straight seams. Really nice mix of fabrics and I love the quilting.

congratulations! You've finished this project 11 months in advance!! Just think of how smart you're going to feel when you place it lovingly on your table next February, just in time for Valentine's day! Great mix of fabrics in here - Love the pink ducks, I hadn't seen that colourway.

A finish is a finish! Be kind to yourself. The thread choice looks especially good--kind of unifies the qhole thing. I like it.

I think it looks great, we are always the hardest on our own stuff.

Hi Karen! Your table runner is gorgeous...so fun with the mixture of prints and shades! I clicked to you post about the fire, scary stuff. Made me think I better go locate my extinguisher and check the pressure thing on it...my kids have tissue and lamps : ) Who'd have thought that would be a dangerous combination of items?!
