Spring to Finish Challenge

In updating things a bit today, I realized I did not summarize my progress on Jacquie's Spring to Finish Challenge in May. I was hoping for 8 finishes and attained 5. Here are my 5 finishes below which you have seen: Modern Valentines Runner, Kaffe Fassett Triangular Log Cabins for placemat swap, Old Friends are the Best quilt for Bloggers Quilt Festival, potholders for the great Potholder Swap and a potholders & a bag holder for my ORB Spring Swap partner.

Additionally, I was hoping to get caught up on my Jelly Roll Sampler Blocks & Three Creative Studios BOM and finish my zig zag quilt. I made the Sis Boom quilt in about a week finishing on the day the Quilt Festival started. After that, I succumbed to the busyness of the end of the school year and cleaning up my house that have been totally neglected for the week...and catching up on sleep. I think the first three weeks of May I stayed up until 2 or 3am everynight.

When I look at my finishes now, I'm pretty happy to get these done in a month with everything else going on and I was reminded of an important lesson. Balance, I need to work on incorporating my sewing into the other activities that go on in a daily basis...and with summer and having two kids home everyday I'm going to get lot's of chances to see if I can find a bit of balance!

Congratulations on all of those beautiful finishes! I have learned my lesson in planning too many projects for summer - they never get done. It's way more fun going to the beach, pool, hiking trails and eating ice cream with the kids. Balance sounds like a great plan. Have a great summer!!!
