3x6 Sampler Bee Received & Design Quandry

These are the 5 blocks I have received so far for the 3x6 Sampler Bee this quarter, along with the block I made myself.

These 6 blocks above are the ones I received the first quarter and the block below is the one I made for myself for the 1st quarter.

I am combining all these red and white modern blocks and a Lonni Rossi sage and red colored pine fabric to make a modern Christmas quilt. Below is the outer border and blocks, along with a red fabric of some sort for a narrow inner border and then the coordinating sage and white snowfall fabric for sashing between the blocks. (Cornerstones or not, and if so what?)

I recently discovered the coordinating Lonni Rossi branch print at this LQS (for only $4/yd -yah!) so I thinking about using it in a few blocks. Also, Amber used a bit of the Erin Michael red paint by number birds in my block the first quarter, and the red and green seemed so perfect for this quilt that I am going to use the fat quarter I have stashed for blocks. I have 6 more blocks coming for the third quarter also, so I think I am going to try for 25 blocks total.

So that is the plan, thus far... I'm just not sure though? What do you think, thumbs up? thumbs down, or what would you different? Wish I could just have you over for a bit of morning caffeine so we could solve this and the rest of the worlds' dilemmas all at once.

Love these blocks! All of them. For some reason I keep seeing a white sashing then red inner border then the green/red border print. Perhaps add the other green as cornerstones to get the green incorporated and break up the red/white. Looking forward to seeing what you decide. It'll be beautiful.

Since red is one of my favorite colors, red and white together is exquisite! Beautiful!

It will be the most modern Christmas quilt ever! I like the toned down sashing and border fabrics ..... it will balance all of the different blocks really well.

I guess I would need to wait and see all of the blocks before deciding on the borders Karen. But I think you have a great plan. Although there is nothing like seeing it all in person.
