You are probably thinking the same thing I am..this quilt has gone on forever and it is finally done. Last week I signed up for Amy's One Week One Thing Challenge and my goal was to finish this quilt and the Authentic bag that I shared late last week. All I had left to do was block this quilt, add a hanging sleeve and bind it. Yesterday afternoon I talked my husband to making his debut into the requisite role of holding the quilt up for a few backyard photos.
As you may recall from my previous (and numerous) posts, this quilt was a challenge project for the Minneapolis Modern Quilt guild. Each member brought 2.5 inch strips of polka dot fabric to swap and we were allowed to add one fabric to the top. I used Sandy Klop's Wee Play cream and black alphabet print and added a cream and black modern plaid from Mary Lou Weidman's Happiness Is line to the back and also for binding.
And you may also recall, I had to delay blocking this quilt because my dryer was out of order for about 10 days (I wanted to dry it part way before blocking), so accordingly I had to include my new clothesline for a quilt photo! (I made it thru the 10 days with a retractable clothesline, several drying racks and NO trips to the laundry mat!)
