Miscellany

This morning I'm tidying up my scraps and divying up this huge box of scraps that I won in a giveaway on Victoria's blog. (Thanks Victoria!) I was going to keep them separate but decided they would add a lot of life to mine so together it is.

I also recently won these vintage sheets from Carla... I think they'll make a great picnic quilt don't you?

Those of you that remember may have wondered what happened to my UFO Challenge? And I think I shared my son got rather sick with whooping cough the day after I announced my little challenge.  Normally, I would be rather frustrated and stayed up super late to off set what I didn't get done in the day.  This time it was different. Obviously, I did what I needed to to take care of my family but I also got to some things that had been let go... you know the large pile of socks on the dryer, the messy closet, a huge shredding pile, etc.  So the best lesson of my challenge was balance and I've gone to more of a blogging without obligation mentality.  If I have something to share I will, but some weeks with kids activities, hosting play dates, etc. I just might not get anything significant sewn.  With all that said, I still did do a fair amount of sewing and have two larger projects almost done...but something funny with UFOs, I don't really care to share a partially done UFO that I wish was done some time ago?  So hopefully in the next week or so they'll be done and I'll declare my challenge done with less that productive results but important lessons learned. (and even a clean house, too!)
