Over a year ago, Jackie request pillowcases for one of her guild's projects - pillowcases for the Hole in the Wall Gang Camp. I planned on making up a half dozen or so to send and when I emailed Jackie last spring about the deadline, she said any that they received after the spring delivery would just go to this next years donation. I can't even recall what the tyranny of the urgent was at the time that made me miss the deadline, but I decided at that time I would just double the amount I was going to make and make it a two year donation.
I don't know about you, but sometimes a longer project leads to more fabric purchases for that project! So when I started cutting my fabric, I found I had enough for the dozen I was planning on making AND another dozen pillowcases. So today after more than a year of good intentions, I am mailing off two dozen pillowcases to Jackie for the kids' camp.
If you haven't read about the camp in any of Jackie's post, go check their website out. As a parent, I can imagine just how much this camp means to those that participate. I'm quite sure that Jackie would be glad to forward any pillowcases on if you'd like to donate as well! ( These are great stashbusters and the pattern can be found on Jackie's sidebar.)
