The Boys of Summer

A good portion of this summer has been all about baseball. (And certainly not much sewing as you may have guessed by my absence here.)  In June, we went to a Minnesota Twins game when my parents were here.  My older son is allergic to peanuts, so we are most appreciative that the Twins offer several peanut free games.

Since the beginning of May, Jon has had little league.  He has several games during the week and had two different weeks of baseball camp.  Of course I bring hexagons or something to work on but always get wrapped up in the game and don't get anything done!  This week his team has playoffs and a tournament and then we'll get a three week respite before the fall baseball season begins.

And William is in T-ball, too...

With all this baseball, it's not a surprise that I have a stash of baseball fabric!

A few weeks ago while I was off MIA with all these baseball & kid activities, was my two year blogiversary.  Later this week I'll host an official giveaway for the occasion...

I like the idea of the people that have been reading along for some time with my sewing (and lack thereof, lately) getting an extra entry, so leave a comment on this post to win an OOP Wonderland charm pack and later this week when I post my official giveaway I'll add the comments from this post to give you an extra chance to win. (And of course this little early giveaway & my blogiversary giveaway will be open to international friends as always!)

Hope you are having a great summer!

Those photos from OUR Twins stadium are wonderful - we haven't been there yet! The boys look like they are baseball players/fans for life! Enjoy every minute with them Karen - they grow up too fast - I know! GO TWINS!

When we visited the US in 2005 my husband and eldest son went to a Twins game. Mitchell just loved it (he loves all sport). There's not a lot of baseball played in Australia. It was certainly a great experience. Looks like your boys had a great time too!

My boys aren't quite old enough for sport (2.5 and 4) but I'm dreading winter mornings standing on the sideline watching them play Rugby (I'm in NZ). I can relate to your failed attempts to get things done though. I usually take my knitting to events with me but don't manage to do anything with it.

My husband has been to the Twins stadium! I don't like baseball so I haven't been encouraging my son in t-ball, lol. He doesn't have the hand-eye coordination for it anyway, but your boys look like they have it!

We are also such Baseball fans... Red Sox here. In fact, I am watching them right now. I love the photos you took. Who knew they had peanut free games? That is great! Love little league too! Although my daughter was in it, so it was softball, but great none the less.

Cute! We are Red Sox fans-try to make it to Seatle when they play there. My boys do karate-and i pretend to do hexagons there :) I bring them along and only end up doing 2 or 3!
