On the MPLS Mod Guild Blog: Hardanger (Do you know what it is?)

Earlier this week I wrote a post on the Minneapolis Modern Quilt Guild Blog about a form of openwork embroidery that originated in Norway a few hundred years ago, called Hardanger.  Check out my post if you'd like to know more.  I am definitely just a beginner, but the gorgeous pillow above was made my mom for our wedding to use as a ring pillow...(my skills have a long way to go!)

I love the look of hardanger. Never tried it myself but back in my stitching hey days I had friends who did it. It's so lovely. Nice work!

The pillow is gorgeous!!! I love seeing nice hardanger work. It is such a dying art. I am glad to see new participants.
