Starry Night Topper

Today I am sharing a gift that I've been meaning to finish for the last several weeks and finally completed.  It is a table topper make using Sherri K Falls Starry Night pattern.

My mom had mentioned before Christmas she needed a new sugar shaker (which is pretty important for lefse eating Norwegians like my family!).  I gave her a salt/pepper/sugar set that was green depression-like glass.  This topper is for her table and I am hoping the pomegranate tonga treat fabric I used will go nicely with her new table items/decor.

The topper is 24x24 and was cut and pieced quickly within a few hours.  The only real challenge was the binding.  It had to be very narrow to not cut off the star points and it took a few tries to get the hang of the angles.  Heather Peterson had a great tutorial on binding odd angles that was of great help.

Ok, I am off to the post office to mail this! (Thanks for stopping by today.)
